Students
Like everything else at Florida Community College,
career development is all about you. Career Development Centers
(CDC) are equipped with the tools and information to help you figure
out a career plan. Make an appointment with a career counselor
who will offer career advice and guidance. Once youve decided
on a career, the CDCs Job Placement Office can help you find
that perfect full-time, part-time or summer job.
These services are available to all of our students,
including those who have applied but havent start classes yet.
High school students are eligible for some of these services as
well. We also assist alumni in career planning. Some services
may vary by campus; contact a Career Development Center for specific
information.

With so many options from which to choose, selecting
a career — or selecting a major and then connecting that major
to a career — can seem like an overwhelming task, leaving you
to wonder, “How do I get started?” It may seem daunting,
but the process can be broken down into four steps:
- Gather information about yourself, through
activities like self-assessments
- Gather information about the world of work
- Identify careers related to your interests
and abilities
- Act on the decision you have made by getting
the education or training to achieve your career goal
The Career Development Centers can assist you
at each step of the process. Contact
us to get started today. In the meantime, you can begin organizing your
thoughts and exploring your options by visiting our on-line
career exploration page.
