 Health Care

Mix your love of humanity with your love of science and make it a great career

Some health care careers require a little more love of humanity than science. Others a little more science. Either way, health and dental care is one of the largest career areas you can choose and one of the largest sets of programs at Florida Community College.

Your earning potential in a health or dental career is very good once you become a degreed professional. If you need faster entry into the workforce, entry-level, fast training certificate options are also available for health and dental careers. Check out all your options below.

Bachelor Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) — The mission for the B.S.N. program is to create competent, ethical, confident health care practitioners committed to professional development through life-long learning in a positive, non-discriminatory and supportive learning environment. The program emphasizes critical care nursing.

Patient Care — When your main goal is to work one-on-one with patients who are relying on your skills, these are the options for you:

Diagnostic and Treatment Specialists — Several health care careers involve technicians working less directly with patients or behind the scenes completely. All are important in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. The College offers several options:

The Business Side of Health Care — Several careers in health care have more to do with business and office skills than with diagnosis and treatment:

Emergency Medical Services — When tragedy strikes, the first people on the scene are often emergency medical professionals. The College offers three successive programs in this area.

Dietary Specialists — Diet management is one of the most important elements of a treatment or disease management plan. This program prepares students to function at the generalist level of dietetic care under the supervision of a registered dietician.

If your career diagnosis is in the health care field, call Florida Community College now. You can learn more about these health care careers by visiting any campus Career Development Center.
