Virtual Job Fair online training manual now available to job seekers
Learn how to submit applications and resumes for Virtual Job Fair April 1-8

The First Coast Virtual Job Fair (VJF) will be open for job seekers to apply for jobs listed online beginning April 1 and continuing through April 8. A training manual, the VJF Handbook, is available now. Access to the VJF Handbook is free. Lessons start with the very basics of computer and Internet knowledge to help those with little or no experience. Those with greater computer and Internet skills can skip the basics and jump to the topics that matter to them. Information and examples are provided to help job seekers build an effective resume and apply for jobs that fit their experience and skills to get the job they want.

In partnership with First Coast Manufacturers Association (FCMA), JAXPORT and Florida Community College, WorkSource is initiating the Virtual Job Fair, a new means by which qualified job seekers and employers can match their skills with employer needs. Northeast Florida will have access to this entirely online recruiting tool April 1-8, with registration beginning on April 1 at 12:01 a.m. The Web-based format makes it available 24/7 during that period, offering unmatched convenience for job seekers and employers.

The VJF Handbook is provided by Florida Community College, helping job-seekers to make the best use of the VJF. The College also will provide information on career counseling and training for workers needing to upgrade their present skills. They can also learn about courses to build new skills such as welding, for industries in which there is a demonstrated need for employees.

Industry, educational and media organizations are invited to learn more about how to become involved in this exceptional response to the region’s employment needs by contacting Elizabeth Cochran Brown at WorkSource at 904.798.9229, ext 2212.
