She is the first and only student at the University of Florida to receive a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration and Business Administration.
In her letter of recommendation for the APC Award, Downtown Campus President Dr. Edythe Abdullah said, “Kathryn has managed many projects this year in addition to running a growing Liberal Arts and Sciences division with the Institute for Teacher Preparation and Development. Her list of successful initiatives includes: the design and implementation of the Biotechnology BANNER Center, Mentor Program, the Great Neighborhoods Project, New Americans Program, Biotechnology degree expansion, Polytechnic Academy case management system, and participation in the City’s Life Sciences Commission. She knows her team, what they are able to accomplish, what development needs they have and plans on how to meet those needs. She can get blood out of a turnip.”
