Communication Skills: Learn How to Communicate More Effectively Through DiSC*

Program Description: This interactive workshop is designed to help participants learn how to become more effective communicators. Each participant will take the DiSC Behavioral/Communication Assessment to learn their individual DiSC profile. This validated report provides each participant with specific information regarding their communication style and how they communicate with others. Everyone leaves the workshop with specific strategies of how to work effectively with each other. They will understand how their communication style can be viewed as positive or negative depending on the audience and the situation. Finally, they will learn how their ability to deal with conflict affects the success of the overall team. If members of a single team are trained, each attendee’s DiSC graph is plotted on one chart so everyone can see how they relate to each other.

Course Objectives and Measurable Outcomes: Each participant will learn:

• What is communication and how it affects other people’s perception.
• An in-depth understanding of their strengths and areas of opportunity.
• How to identify the communication styles of others.
• How to adapt their style to meet the needs of others.

This workshop always receives excellent reviews from participants: The optimum setting is when teams take the training together; they learn specific strategies to working together more effectively. Names and e-mail addresses of participants must be provided two weeks prior to training so the DiSC Assessment e-mail link can be sent.

Student Workshop Evaluation/Assessment of Learning: An evaluation will be given to all participants regarding the training outcomes and specifically how they will apply them.

*DiSC is an extremely well validated communication assessment that has been used by many leading companies throughout the world. The DiSC report is highly applicable to each person’s role within their company. They receive specific action items to improve their communication skills.
