Mary Andrew

Coach Andrew will begin her twentieth season at FCCJ in the fall of 2008. She was asked by FCCJ to restart the volleyball program in 1989 and after four years of diligent work brought the program to a level of national recognition. The past eight seasons have seen the FCCJ volleyball program consistently ranked in the National Top Twenty and five seasons in the National Top Ten. Coach Andrew has posted 462 career wins while at FCCJ, an average of over 20 wins per season.
Coach Andrew has thirty years of work experience in the fields of education, coaching, athletic administration, commercial recreation and professional sports. She has served on the Florida Regional Board of the United States Volleyball Association, is a member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association and has served as the volleyball chairperson for the Mid-Florida Conference and as the state Volleyball Chairperson for Florida Community Colleges. She has also served for the last nineteen years as the Director of the Jacksonville Junior Volleyball Association. Coach Andrew has been an invited speaker at the American Volleyball Coaches National Convention and Final Four and the Florida High School Coaches Convention. In 2002 she was selected as the AVCA Region Coach of the Year and in the spring of 2006 she was also inducted into the Florida Community College Activities Association “Hall of Fame.”
Coach Andrew is committed to instilling in her players and staff the high value of a good education as well as the values of integrity, honesty and fair play. The FCCJ volleyball program seeks to serve as an example of these qualities both on and off the court. |

Jose Rivera
Jose begins his sixth year as assistant coach at FCCJ this season. His extensive resume of coaching experience continues to bring excellence to the volleyball program. His resume includes experience as a Division I Assistant Coach at Mississippi State and Head Coach at Jacksonville State. Jose has also directed his own junior club program, served as a coach for the Florida High Performance Team and as a Head Coach for the White Sands Volleyball Club. Since moving to Jacksonville Jose has served as a coach for the Jacksonville Junior Volleyball Association National Teams Program and is currently the Director of the Regional Program. He is currently finishing up his USA Volleyball CAP III Certification and is a member of the USAV Florida Regional Teaching Cadre. Jose played collegiate baseball in Livingston, Alabama and gained valuable volleyball playing experience in his native Puerto Rico. He currently teaches full time for the Duval County School System at the John E. Ford Magnet School and is married to wife Leanna. The FCCJ program is fortunate to have such a qualified and experienced coach as Jose Rivera working on our staff. |

Robert Manosca
Robert begins his fourth year with the FCCJ staff after a playing career at New Paltz College and a coaching resume that includes several years as the Head Men’s Coach at Lee-McRae College in North Carolina and extensive coaching experience in junior club programs and USAV adult volleyball. Robert is an accomplished player and coach and he recently completed training in Hawaii to become a certified Yoga Instructor. Robert is a native of Jacksonville and we are extremely fortunate to have him continue as a member of the FCCJ volleyball coaching staff. |

Adis Imamovic
Adis begins his second year with the FCCJ staff this season. His extensive resume includes playing experience in Boznia and Germany and assistant coaching experience at the University of Central Iowa and the University of North Florida. Adis is also the National Program Director of the Jacksonville Junior Volleyball Association which sent two teams to the USAV National Tournament in the summer of 2007. In addition he manages leagues and camps for the JJVA. Adis brings a tremendous amount of volleyball knowledge to our staff as well as a great relationship with the local and national volleyball community. We are extremely excited to have him join us this season. |

Sonia Thigpen
Sonia Thigpen serves as the trainer for the FCCJ Athletic Department through the services of the Jacksonville Orthopedic Institute. Sonya has been with the program for several years and is always there to assist our athletes with their medical needs. We are very fortunate to have such a caring and efficient trainer assisting our program and caring for our athletes. |
