Insurance
Jacksonville is headquarters for some of the country’s largest insurance companies. This means broad opportunities for the person who wants to enter the field of insurance.
Florida Community College offers courses approved by the Florida Department of Financial Services for pre-licensing and continuing education.
One advantage of using our insurance program in meeting your educational requirements is the affordable tuition. In addition, Florida Community College instructors are a tremendous asset to our insurance program. Our instructors are insurance professionals with years of work experience in their field of expertise. Instructors provide students with current information and updates as they pertain to the various fields of insurance. For those who wish to enter the field, Florida Community College can meet your needs.
Pre-Licensing
Property and Casualty - 200 hours – RMI 0601 and RMI 0602
Health and Variable Annuity – 40 hours - RMI 0641
Accredited Claims Adjuster designation - 40 hours - RMI 0635
Registered Customer Service Representative – 40 hours - RMI 0093
20-44 Personal Lines Property & Casualty Agent – 52 hours – RMI 0603
4-40 – 2-20 Property & Casualty Conversion – 40 hours – CWK 0081
Textbooks are required for all pre-licensing courses and may be purchased at Follett’s bookstore on the campus where the course is being held. Some courses suggest reading the book prior to the beginning of class in order to properly follow class lectures.
Continuing Education
Approved continuing education is available in seven-hour, four-hour and three-hour classes for ethics, property and casualty, life and health licenses.
