Student Life and Leadership Development

Student ambassadors and student government association (SGA) leaders at Deerwood Center work as a team in almost everything they do. In addition to planning activities and working campus events, they also act as tutors/mentors in the Cedars After-School program next door to Deerwood Center. The program, which operates four afternoons a week, is designed for at-risk children in grades K through middle school.

The team is also part of a larger group called H.Y.P.E. (Helping You Pursue Equality,) working with Henri Landwirth, Holocaust survivor and humanitarian in his “Hate Hurts” campaign.

The ambassadors and SGA members are supervised by Kristy Synnott, Student Engagement Coordinator.

SGA Meetings - Fall 2008 SGA meetings will be held Tuesdays at 4 p.m. in Room B-2210.
